Based Teaching Methods Project (IBTM)
IBTM Project is financially supported by the Higher Education Academy
Network for Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism within the framework
of the Pedagogic Research and Development Fund 2007/08 (Round 9)
The aim of this project is to create innovative image based teaching
methods that will lead to improvements in teaching materials and through
this, enhance student interest, engagement and learning.

Image based teaching interventions (description):
1. Utilising images to improve
concept learning
2. Humorous images to develop critical
thinking
3. Images to enhance student
ability to identify ethical issues
4. Conceptual maps to develop research
projects
5. Destination image analysis for
tourism marketing
6.Multiple-perspective analysis of images
Learning Objects based on the methods described above (PowerPoint presentations
that contain text, still images and sound)
Learning Objects are defined here as any entity, digital or non-digital,
which can be used, re-used or referenced during technology supported learning.
